Incense sticks, i.e. “Dhup“ and “Agarbattis” are daily use items in most Temples and most Indian households, shops and all religious functions. Agarbattis and Dhup manufacturing unity are mostly located in Karnataka & Andhra due to availability of aromatic & scouted woods. However these Incense Sticks are consumed all over the country and a large Quality is exported to all over the world. The Quality of Incense Sticks is important which can give good market share. The project is primarily labor intensive and one Project can give employment to a large number of unemployed women without their being highly skilled or formally educated. The project can be set up with low investment anywhere in India.
